Cisco Packet Tracer gives an oppurtunity to students for practicing realtime network topology in this simulator.Using Packet Tracer we can virtually connect routers,switches,PC,Bridges,Layer 3,Layer 2 Devices and we can configure and check how it works.

Some times Lab or Topology created on  previous version may not work in newer version.so, here you can download older version of cisco Packet tracer to open and run your old pkt,pkz,imscc format.Most common format we use is pkt.We can save entire topology with start-up configuration of routers and switches.

In Cisco website, we can download only latest version of packet tracer,New versions give more options to user and there will be a fix for the bugs.Always newer version of packet tracer are best,but if we want older version,here we provided links for that.

In Packet Tracer we can configure router with Routing Protocols like RIP,IGRP,OSPF,Eigrp and more we can create a topology based on our requirement we can choose available routers and connect with serial or cross cable to configure router.Available Router in newer version are Router 1841,2620XM,2621XM,2811,PT-Empty,PT-Router,4321,1941,2901,2911,81910OX,819HGW,829.we choose above roters for our simulation based on our requirements.

To Customize packet Tracer, click on "options" tab.Once we clicked on that a window will open,the first tab will be for Interface releated Options like showing model label or not,Sound,Showing Animation.Showing Device name labels and also we can choose to show port labels always in logical workspace.we can also diable link lights by uncheck "show link lights".By default QoS stamps on packets,Show port labels when mouse over in logical workspace, enable cable length effects,show cable info poput in physical workspace will be checked.
